Angouleme is know for, among other things, its comic festival. In tribute to this event the town is decorated with a number of murals, known as murs peints. These works often feature popular characters and are drawn by the cartoons principal artists.
This piece, Memoires du XXe Ciel, located on the square Saint-Andre, beautifuly displayed the passion and romance that France is synonymous with.
